Russia deliberately hit a building in Solomianskyi district with a Kh-101 missile: Zhdanov on the Kremlin’s new tactic

During the massive attack on June 17, Russia deliberately targeted high-rise residential buildings in Kyiv. In particular, a high-precision Kh-101 missile struck a building in the Solomianskyi district.

Military expert Oleh Zhdanov said this in an interview with Glavred.

«The nine-story Kyiv building, whose residents were killed by Russia, was destroyed by a direct hit from a Kh-101 missile. This is a high-precision missile. The Russians used to boast that the Kh-101 has a circular error probable of no more than 10 meters. So, it’s a high-precision missile that is not affected by electronic warfare, ” the military expert emphasizes.

Zhdanov explains that the missile hit its target — the residential building — directly from above, penetrating all the floors down to the basement. According to him, this is exactly what the Kh-101 is programmed to do.

The expert does not believe the hit on a high-rise in Pozniaky by a «Shahed» drone was accidental either. Zhdanov says Russia has maps, knows the exact location of buildings in Kyiv, and accurately programs the flight routes of the Shaheds. Moreover, this strike occurred in the center of a residential area, far from any industrial zone.

Zhdanov also explained how such a combined attack by Russia was carried out. He notes that the drones spotted in Kyiv late in the evening served as scouts — they were used to expose air defenses and maneuvered around the outskirts of the capital, without really pushing into the center.

«Only after that, at 1:30 a.m., a wave of Shaheds was launched at Kyiv. At the same time, two Kinzhal missiles arrived under the cover of drones, since our air defense was engaged with UAVs. The gunfire was intense. One Kinzhal was shot down by the Patriot system, and the second one landed exactly where Russia had directed it, ” Oleh Zhdanov said.
