Overnight Russian attack leaves Kyiv in cold again: Thousands of apartment blocks without heating

Heating conditions worsened significantly on both the left and right banks of Kyiv after overnight shelling. During the night into February 12, the Russian army again attacked Kyiv. Strikes hit critical infrastructure facilities. Thousands of buildings were left without heating, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

The news has been supplemented

“Following last night’s massive attack, damage to critical infrastructure facilities targeted by the enemy has left nearly 2,600 additional buildings in the capital without heating,” the mayor said.

Thousands of apartment buildings have been left without heating on both the left and right banks of the city, including in the Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Pecherskyi and Solomianskyi districts. Municipal services are already working to restore heat supply, Klitschko said.

More than 1,100 apartment buildings in the Desnianskyi and Darnytskyi districts still remain without heating following previous shelling.

“Critical damage to the Darnytska CHP plant currently makes it impossible to supply heating medium to them,” Klitschko stressed.
