Attack on Kyiv, July 8
Russia attacked Kyiv overnight on July 8, with damage reported in two districts of the capital. One person was killed, according to Tymur Tkachenko, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
"Regrettably, we have information that a woman was killed in tonight's attack. As of right now (8:30 a.m.), there is one fatality and two people are injured," the official stated.
Impact of the attack on Kyiv
According to the State Emergency Service, the missile strike triggered fires in two districts of the capital. In the Desnianskyi district, warehouses caught fire.
In the Sviatoshynskyi district, fires broke out in an administrative building, warehouses, and a garage cooperative, while several trams were also damaged.
"During firefighting operations at one of the locations in the Sviatoshynskyi district, the body of a woman was recovered," rescue services reported.
