In the early hours of Monday, June 23, the Russian army attacked Kyiv and the surrounding region with «Shahed» drones and ballistic missiles. Fires and destruction occured in several districts of the city.

In the capital, at least six people were killed, and 25 were injured, including four children. Eight of the injured were in the Solomianskyi district, and 17 in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

According to Kyiv region police, one person was killed, and seven were injured in the Kyiv region, including two State Emergency Service workers.

According to the Air Force, the enemy used strike drones, ballistic, and cruise missiles for the massive shelling of Kyiv.

In the capital, residential buildings, a business center, educational and medical facilities, a metro station, and vehicles were damaged as a result of the enemy attack.

«It is known that six people were killed in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where an entire entrance of a residential high-rise was destroyed. A search and rescue operation is ongoing. A headquarters has been set up where law enforcement is receiving citizen reports, ” the Kyiv police stated.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported the following consequences of the attack:

  • In the Shevchenkivskyi district, which suffered the most this night, an entire entrance of a residential high-rise was destroyed, and six people were killed. A search and rescue operation is underway, and a headquarters has been established for law enforcement to handle citizen reports.

  • In the Holosiivskyi district, two vehicles and a business center were damaged.

  • In the Darnytskyi district, a two-story residential building was damaged. No fires or casualties were reported, preliminarily.

  • In the Solomianskyi district, the attack affected at least five locations. Notably, a business center building opposite the sports and wellness complex of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) was destroyed. The two-story building of the KPI sports complex, which houses a swimming pool, gymnastics, and aerobics halls, among others, sustained significant damage, including numerous shattered windows.

  • In the Sviatoshynskyi district, the attack impacted at least four locations. Debris fell on a stadium, a fire broke out near a residential building, and a non-residential building was damaged. Two men, aged 56 and 61, were injured.

As a result of the attack, the infrastructure of the «Sviatoshyn» metro station was partially damaged, and one of the station’s exits — toward Chornobaivska Square (Heroes of Brest), leading to the bridge — has been temporarily closed. Despite the damage, the station’s overall schedule remains unchanged, and the metro continues to operate normally.

Traffic has also been restricted near the Sviatoshyn metro station and on Ivana Vyhovskoho Street.

In the early hours of Monday, June 23, the occupiers struck the Kyiv region again. One person was killed, and seven others were injured, including two rescuers.

As of 7:40 a.m., in the Bilotserkivskyi district, four private homes, a multi-apartment building, and an enterprise were damaged.

«Additionally, a hotel building housing a medical facility was destroyed. Unfortunately, a 67-year-old woman died from her injuries. Five people were hospitalized, including two State Emergency Service workers. Two other citizens received medical assistance at the scene, ” the Kyiv region police reported.

In the Buchanskyi district, four private homes and four vehicles were damaged.

In the Boryspilskyi district, an enterprise and a two-story building were also damaged.
