Amid the tense situation in the energy system, the city remains under emergency electricity cuts. Energy experts have developed technical solutions that will enable a move from unpredictable restrictions to strict but forecastable schedules. The aim is to implement the new regime in the coming days.

Ukraine’s Minister of Energy, Denys Shmyhal, provided the information.

The work is currently being carried out by the Headquarters for Eliminating the Consequences of Emergency Situations in Kyiv and the surrounding region.

«Emergency power outages continue in Kyiv. However, energy experts have developed a series of technical solutions that will allow a shift from emergency to strict but predictable schedules, ” he said.

During the day, 160 repair teams restored electricity supply, and another 52 teams will work on-site overnight. Energy specialists emphasise that they are prepared for all scenarios.

Regarding heating and the social sector, the operation of heat generation has been partially stabilized. Currently, 3,261 buildings remain without heating.

Municipal services are working to supply heat to as many homes as possible by 22 January. 124 generators of various capacities are in use at critical points in the city.

Kyiv has 91 State Emergency Service aid points at 68 locations, where residents can receive assistance.
